Ann Mussey

I am married and the mother of two grown children.  Childbirth has been a love of mine for over twenty years, with unmedicated births being a first love.

In 2006, I was finally able to bring that love of birthing to fruition by completing the ALACE Doula Training Course.

Since that time I have attended births from Tyler, TX to Ruston, LA.  Attendance at these births have been at area hospitals, at home, and at a birthing center.  I have attended unmedicated, natural births, epidural births and C-section births. Staying current with birthing knowledge is a priority for me.

At that moment of birth, when a family is born and heaven and earth meet for a few precious seconds, is the grace that feeds my soul. To be part of that experience with you is an honor and a pleasure. If I can help you in your journey to having the birth experience your heart desires, please let me know.

Services:                                                                                    $400.00

Our ideal is to build a relationship with you & your family over about a year,

6 months prenatally & 3-6 months postpartum.

FREE INITIAL INTERVIEW - this can be done at your home, over lunch or another place you choose.  This visit is to see if we feel good about working with each other.  It is great if the father can be at this meeting.  Please take 3-7 days to talk with your spouse and think about the decision to use us as your doula.  If you aren't sure you want to work with us, we will be glad to give you the names of other doulas in your area.    It is important that you feel comfortable with your choice of who will support you.

COST & PAYMENTS - If you choose to use us, you will be given an agreement to sign and remit the agreement & a deposit to hold your estimated due date.  Our deposit, $200, is half of our fee of $400.  However, we can make arrangements of 4 payments of $50, if that is needed.  The full deposit should be paid by week 36.  The remaining $200 is due at the first home postnatal visit.

We believe that every woman should have the benefit of experienced and knowledgeable support.  For this reason, we will do all we can to work out some type of payment arrangements.  If you need help with the cost please let us know as early as possible.  We want to help you to have a wonderful birthing experience.
